I love Asian cuisine, from Thai and Vietnamese to Chinese and Japanese. I’ve yet to try a variety of Asian food I didn’t like. That said, my favorite by far is Chinese food, but it is notoriously difficult to find a good Chinese restaurant (especially one that doesn’t treat MSG like salt).
I’ve eaten at just about every Chinese food restaurant in Utah County, and as of now the best I’ve found is Rice Wok in Orem. Big thanks to the guys at work for introducing me to it! So what makes Rice Wok so great? Three reasons: price, portions, and taste.
They have an awesome list of combination plates, with everything on the list either $5.50 or $5.75. The combo plate includes an entrée, fried rice, two pot stickers, a fortune cookie and a soda (free soda at lunch only). The portions are large enough to fill me, and so far everything I’ve had there I’ve loved. I’ve had the chicken lo mein, the sesame chicken, the cashew chicken and the beef with broccoli. All of those are only $5.50 each, and worth every penny.
The service is super fast, and the staff super friendly. Almost every time I’ve been there have been a few people there, with an almost constant stream of take-out customers coming and going. I looked around online, and it looks like they’ve gotten nothing but stellar reviews, which are well deserved in my opinion.
You can eat there, but there are only 14 or 15 seats, and it’s pretty tight quarters. If you would prefer, they also do take-out and delivery (phone number is 801-225-9888). They are located at 1468 North State Street, right next to Radio Shack and Got Tamales, and their hours are Monday – Saturday from 11am to 9:30 pm.
